    Some people are glad to see the Mummers as it tells Xmas is coming near. Little children are afraid of Mummers. The following verses are some of their rhymes.
    The first person recites the following:-
    Room, Room, ye gallant boys -
    Give us room to rhyme:
    And we'll show you some ectivity
    About the Xmas time
    If you dont believe me what I say
    Enter (I) in Jack Straw and he'll
    show the way.
    Jack Straw enters and recites his piece:-
    Here comes I Jack Straw
    Such a man you never saw.
    Through a rock through a reel
    Through an old spinner
