When the race began he ran along with the hounds after the hare and he was only a small piece behind the hounds at the end of the race. Dan Mac Fadden, my great grand father, was a great walker. He lived in the Chee-Park, a few miles from Rathmullan. He walked to Lough Derg every year and back again without eating anything and he did not break his fast till the next morning.
