    and jeamie Crossan, John Tays went around selling laces and pins. Jeamie Crossan went around gathering rags and bits of broken pots and he always gave the people a packet of pins in exchange for the scrap. When the people of my district are buying and selling they call a sixpence a "tannar" and they call a shilling a "bob". Some coins have gone out of use such as a four shilling piece, a five shilling piece, a soverign and a half soverign, but some years ago that was not the case.
