  1. Conwall Well is situated in the district of Conwall which is about a mile from Letterkenny. The field in which this well is situated formerly belonged to a man called Cowan who sold the field to Father Doherty. Father Doherty was the administrator of Conwall parish at that time and he blessed the field as an additional cemetery for the parish as the old cemetery was crowded out.
    Conwall Well was always considered a holy well by the people of the parish of Conwall and many people visit it every year in search of cures. It is supposed to be especially efficacious for toothache and the time for visiting it is between sunset and sunrise. This well is a nice deep one lined with stones and with a stone covering.
