Dust on the road is the sign of dry weather. Fog in the lowlands is a sign of rain. When there is great carry on the clouds it is a sign of storm. A rainbow at night is a sailor's delight. A rainbow in the morning is a sailor's warning. A rainbow afternoon good weather soon. When you see a purple blaze on the fire it is a sign of rain. Crows flying in flocks is a sign of storm. When a cuckoo sits on a leafless tree it is the sign of a bad season to come. Donkey braying[?] is a sign of rain. Cobwebs on the ground is a sign of rain. When a cat washes her face it's a sign of rain. A spoonful of March dust is worth a gallon of doctor's medicine. Wind in the north in the summer time is a sign of cold weather. Wind in the north in the winter time is a sign of snow. The Aroro[?] Borealis is the sign of frost. One swallow never made a summer. Cows sheltering during rain is a sign of a shower. When they keep on grazing during rain we may be sure the rain will continue.
