  1. It is said that if there is a fog on the Leitrim mountains it is a sign of rain but if there is a fog on the Donegal mountains it is a sign of fine weather.
    If seagulls come inland it is a sign of a storm.
    If sheep are seen grazing high on the hillside it is a sign of fine weather, but if they are down on the valleys there will be wet weather.
    If swallows fly low it is a sign of rain.
    If a cat is seen sitting with her back to the fire there is going to be a storm.
    When trees wear their foliage late in Autumn there will be a cold wet Spring.
    When there is a blue flame seen in the fire it is a sign of stormy
