  1. Faugheen and the townland around it is called Monksland. In the middle of a big field there are ruins of a temple. The Cistercian monks lived there. Robbers went into that temple long ago and took some holy things and a few nights after the chapel jumped over the other side of the river. It is also said that there was a war between O'Bric and the people around, all of them are buried in Faugheen.
