The Faill Dearg Road.There is a road stretching from Ballyheaffy to Ballyduff. There is a stream crossing this road in Ballyheaffy. Some time ago there were no bridges or gullets or no fences to the road. A priest got killed there. He got out on the road in the darkness of the night and got killed. That stream was called the Sceach and a white thorn tree marks the spot. The strange thing about it is that there are no thorns on it. It is said that the priest's stick fell there and it grew.
A short cut leading to Ballyduff is called the rupplock. To go around is much longer but it is a better road and that is called the Cill Bhán Road.The Fermoy Road
