  1. Brian Ruadh Carbine lived in Glenedagh about 160 years ago. He became a poet and prophet.
    He was a herb for some gentleman.
    He told his master that he saw a cloud falling and a bull came out of it and went among the heifers. When a certain heifer had a calf the master told Brian to milk a noggin of milk and to bring it to him without tasting it. Brian milked the heifer and the froth fell on his hand and he licked it off. When the master heard this he told him he could drink the whole noggin.
    Brian slept some time after and saw a beautiful child in a dream. Afterwards he had the gift of prophecy and poetry.
    Some of the prophecies were:-
    Teach mór ar 'cuile cnocan
    Droicead ar gach sruthán
    Béarla ar an tachrán
    agus butaisi ar na broilleán.
