    May Day
    There is a feast held every year on the first day of May. The people believed that witches took the butter from the milk on that day. If anybody entered the house when people were churning on that day he gave a few beats of the churn-dash to the milk so that he would not be suspected of stealing the butter. The people gave the cow udder's a special dressing on that day.
