  1. All the farmers in this district grow from half and acre to two acres of potatoes each year. The farmer prepares the ground in Spring. In ridges is the principal way potatoes are sown in this district. The ground is ploughed early in Spring and formed into ridges. The ridges are very rough first and on that account they are harrowed to make them firmer and nicer for setting.
