    An accident occured in the locality about three weeks ago. When Patrick Phillips, Churchfield, Knock, was coming from a field with a cart of potatoes on to the public road, he was struck by a van belonging to James Waldron, Ballyhaunis. The cart was turned over and the man was struck against the wall and there was a deep cut in his head. They civic guards were sent for immediately and then he was taken to the doctor and he was then taken to Castlebar
