    first ploughing is done very early in the year usually in January or February. Next this land is harrowed. The land thus treated is left undisturbed until the end of March. Then again it is ploughed and harrowed. This ploughing is called second ploughing.
    Next drills are made with the plough. This work is called opening drills. When the drills are made a covering of farm yard manure is spread in the hollow between every two drills. On top of the manure slits are laid. Slits are the parts into which the potatoes are cut before planting. Each slit must have at least one eye. Sometimes it
