    He fought with Hugh O Neill in Ulster against the English. He afterwards changed sides and fought with English at Kinsale.
    As a reward he was created Viscount Burke of Mayo. Tibloy was always on friendly terms with the Friars and made them rich presents.
    A curate residence was built near the abbey in 1937 and Mass is celebrated in the Abbey every morning
