    Saint Martin's Night.
A fowl is killed before the feast day.
Some of the blood is spilt in the four corners of the house. If this is not done it is believed that a member of the family will die before the end of the year.
It is also thought that Saint Martin would not bless the houses.
The fowl must be killed before November 1st for St Martin takes before but not after his feast day.
