    There was once a boy named Johnny Curtin a poor scholar.

When they got to the old bush, Dick without a moments delay threw of his coat and stepped out six feet from the bush and began to turn up a sod and then to dig hard and fast. Johnny stood by praying to himself. Dick had dug hard for an hour and heard the spade strike something hard and then found out it was a flag. They were not able to lift the flag and they covered it with clay again and went home planning how they would get men to lift the flag. The next day Dick got three of his best men and that night they went to the old bush again and they threw up the flag. Beneath were steps like a stairs and they went
