- There is a story told of one time milk was very scarce in the district. There was very little to be got anywhere and the people were in great trouble.
One day a cow appeared on Foy's green. No one saw her coming or knew where she came from. No matter how often anyone went to her for milk, or how many people went, they all got as much milk as they wanted. One day a woman went to the cow with a can that had no bottom in it, to see what the cow would do, but the cow wouldn't give any milk.
Soon after that the cow disappeared and never was seen again.
