  1. Bird Lore
    The birds in my district are the robin, blackbird wren, thrush, crow, and starling.
    The robin builds its nest in a ditch. It lays five brown eggs in it. It sits on them for three weeks If any bold boy puts his hand into its nest it deserts it.
    The reason why the robin has a red breast is, when Our Lord was dying on the cross the robin picked the berried of the thorns in his sacred head and it rubbed its breast against the blood on our Lord's forehead.
    The blackbird makes its nest in a bush
