    Magherintemple or Machaire -an- Teampuill means - the plain of the church. In olden days it was called Magheriehullagh. There was a druidic church in early times and later it is said that St Patrick had his church here.
    Brackla - a townland half a mile distant is the badger warren
    Brocach is a badger
    Drumbo, means the ridge of the cow.
