Paddy from Cork
Paddy from Cork has never been,
never a railway train has seen,
never has seen the great machine,
that travels along the railway.
The players sit in a circle and as they sing the verse, they pass round a length of string through their fingers, which has a ring in it.
Someone goes in the middle, and as the string passes round, the ring is passed also. The person in the middle tries to find out who has the ring, and when he succeeds, that person goes in the middle.
We'll hire a horse.
We'll hire a horse, we'll hire a gig,
That all the world may have a jig,
and we'll do all that e'er we can,
To help the business on.
'' '' '' '' ''
'' '' '' '' ''
and we'll do all that e'er we can,
to help the business on.
All the players form a ring, and as they sing they make their way to the centre.
Then each one claps hands with the person next him, and then they all swing round. Mr. Jameson, medical Hall, Bailieborough- Faisnéiseoir
