- There are a lot of Townlands near to me. Some of them are Carrowfarnaghan, Tomkin road, Droghill, Keenaghan and Ardue. There is a Holy Lake separating the townland of Tomkin road, Clowney and Keenaghan. This lake is very big it is spring water that is in it.
The reason it is called the Holy Lake is because it is said long ago there was a disease called '' scurvy '' and all the people and all their cattle took this disease and they drank out of this lake they were cured. Another thing about this lake there are no breams to be got in it
it is said long ago two men had a quarrel about a fish and so there were no more breams in it.- Bailitheoir
