The master of the house, Mr Merker said "what is wrong with poor Tom. He never was like that before and he must be angry because I always gave him the first cut of meat and he has not got it yet."
He cut a piece of meat and put it on his plate and gave it to him. The cat got twice as angry and would not look at the meat.
He walked around and walked away from the meat.
So Mr Merker was very annoyed to know what was wrong with the cat.
The Priest told him that it was not a cat at all that it was a devil.
Mr Merker said "not at all that cat is there since my grand-fathers time.
He is always very good and is not a devil."
The priest said that he was a devil and that he would prove that he was one. The Priest took out his book and started to read prayers.
The more prayers the Priest read the more angry the cat got.
When the Priest had a certain amount of prayers read He asked the cat why was he there. The cat spoke and said that he was there for three generations and that he was going to remain there to get the last of the family.
When the Merkers heard the cat talk they got very much afraid and clung to the Priest.
