- Fairy forts are called raths. There are three raths in the townland of Kilshabeg, and partly in view of each other. There is one in Colbinstown, in view of at least two in Kilshabeg.
There is one in Boleycarnigeen, which has the tradition of being "head-quarters". It is called Chrishuna. Each one has a circular mound around it.
There is a story told about Colbinstown. The owner of the land cut a bush to put it in a gap. When he got up next morning, the best cow he had in the byre was dead.
