    'Holy Wells' (continued)
    They perform a Station all round the Holy Well, saying as they go round each time for seven rounds:- "Six Our Fathers, six Hail Marys and Glory be to the Fathers". A portion of the water from the well is then drunk and some taken home in bottles. I know a young boy in this neighbourhood who suffered much from sore eyes and his mother feared he would become completely blind. She took him to this well on the pattern day 15th Aug and soon after she had performed the Station round the well with her boy in front of her. He felt a change coming on, and she told me afterwards that he could see perfectly well after her visit to this grand, hold, old well. There is an old flat stone something like a slab at the back of the well but it's so old that one is not able to discern the old signs and figures on the old slab. In conclusion, I must say its a pity that such an historic old place would not be more frequently visited. There is a remarkable tombstone over a man named Tiquin an old Veteran who died for the Tithes. The inscription
