This story was told to me by My father Martin Maleney - Red clouds in the west at sunset foretells fine weather. A pale yellow sunset is a sign of rain. The most certain thing in the weather signs is to see a circle round the moon. The old proverb is often correct- "A shepherd warning a rainbow at night is a shepherd's delight."
