- Wildfire: (1) a man named James Deegan, Cappincur, Tullamore can cure wildfire. He cures it with his blood.
- (2) A cure for wildfire is to kill a black cat and get its blood and rub it on the wildfire.
- (1) a cure for mumps is to get salt and roast it and then put it on the mumps.
- (1) A cure for rheumatism is to put "fraughan" leaves in the bottom of your stocking or sock and wear them.
(2) When a goose is killed the fat of her inside is stored away until necessary. Then it is rubbed in the place where the pain is at night. It will be alright by next morning.
