  1. In the days of my grandfather football was not played as now-a-days. The rules of the present dat were not recognized in their games. There was not pitch marked out, no goal posts, or any other scoring mark or no side line. The ball was thrown in mid field and no matter what size the field might be the ball should rebound off each ditch for a score. Then as to rules every thing apart from murder was allowed. There was no foot ball boots and very often no jerseys or no referee only the spectators.
