    The incident described on the previous page caused much mirth and gossip in Knockenboy some 40 years ago. There are two other poems extant on the same subject but they are most defective in both rhyme and meter.
    Lempsey was a nick name for an Uncle of the present Charles McCord, Knockenboy, Longford.
