    He says this prayer over the cup of meal, and by watching the sinking of the meal in the cup, he can tell the seriousness of the trouble. If it sinks a quarter of the cup, the hope of recovery is very slight, but if it sinks only a little, he gives good hopes that it will not sink on a second visit, and the patient will be cured.
