- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There was once a man named Reilly who lived in Cavan dreamt that if he went to Nelson's Pillar in Dublin and stood there for three days that a man would come and tell him where he would get a crock of gold in one of his own gardens. He dreamt of it three nights in succession so he decided to go to Dublin. He borrowed his fare to Dublin from a neighbour as he had not it himself. He went to Dublin and stood at Nelson's Pillar. On the first of the three days there were a great many people there but no one gave him any information about gold. On the second day he was there first and was the last to leave but no one turned up. On the third day which was very wet there was no one at the Pillar except himself and another man. Reilly was thinking that he had been fooled and that he should not have given credit to dreams.
