  2. There is a field in the farm of Philip Brady Gaigue that is called the Horse park. In this field the fair of Garristown used to be held. This was a famous fair and buyers came from all over the country. It is told by the old people that it was the only fair in Longford at that time. The dealers lodged in the houses the night before the fair. Two men fell out at the fair once and one was killed. The fair
