- Once upon a time a man lived in the Castle, Moate. Going out one evening to milk his cow he met his death, as the cow kicked him in the stomach. He was taken in to his bed where he was dying. Here he said to his wife that there was an ugly black cat in the bed, and for her to take out the cat. The next day he died, and they buried(continues on next page)
