    During the Penal Day when there a price on the head of the priest, Mass was celebrated in the drying room of the tannery. It was a Mass-house on Sundays and a tannery on weekdays. The priest who used to hide in "Lynn Boy" or "Bograth" as it was known, used to conducted in by a Mr Connell whose family still live opposite the Cathedral Gate. He used to hide the vestments, the Chalice, the Missal and other things that were necessary for the saying of Mass and he used to prepare the room also. The skins used to be hung on the door in the room, so that the soldiers would not remark anything unusual going on. On one occasion when the soldiers were looking
