  1. Old crafts.
    About forty-five years ago baskets were made by two men who lived in the district, Owen Reddy and James Cranley. Owen Reddy lived in Hightown first and he died in Coralstown where Michael Egan is now living He used to make baskets and he used to sell them during the months of October and November while the farmers would be digging their potatoes.
    About forty years ago or more there lived a man this side of Kinnegad by the name of James Cranley. He used to make bee hives with sally rod. He used to bring cart loads of them to the train at Killacan Station. He made his living chiefly by making bee hives.
