- There is a very ancient form of storytelling in Ireland which differs a lot from fairytales known as folklore peculiar to Ireland based mainly on the facts Ireland is very rich in this item of talk of the old people. Not far from my house there is an ancient moat of which there are many stories told but I heard one lately from a very old woman. She said that this moat was one time the site of a lone bush which seemed to keep guard on this mound of clay and earth which was no doubt the work of human hands away in the far off ages. This woman told me that less than one hundred years ago the field that contained this moat was about to be tilled for wheat and the farmer that owned the field was a very cavetous man. The first thing he ordered was to get this moat levelled as he said it was a nuisance(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
