the valuable fragment may be recovered A second portion is said to have gone to Dublin but nobody know where it now lies.
One fragment is said to have (1) an inscription in Irish relating to the suffering of Christ
    (2) A figure of St Patrick
    (3) A Shield containing the figure of a bird
This is interesting and helps us to form an opinion as to who erected this cross. We find on Plate 10 No 85 IRISH HERALD the arms of the Nangle family.
The crest consists of four panels. The top right panel + the lower left panel contain the representation of the unicorn + the figure of three right hands the crest is surmounted by a bird and underneath the motto "not a voice but a wish" "Non VOX SeD VOTUM." The cross may have been erected by the Nangle Family.
A careful search has been made for this cross but it cannot be found.
Information received principally from "Tiger" Mc Entagent.
There is a tradition that some cropies were buried near the School in Spicers field.
