It is not long ago since my father began to till that part of the land and when he was ploughing he ploughed up a great many men's bones and bones of horses. Another time a great many years ago two men were making a ditch in the same fields and when they were digging they dug up the form of a man in the bottom. It is said that Ballinlig is full of men's bones who were killed or murdered in the olden times.
