- A man named Ned Lastly who lived on Laurel Hill, Collon, was going to the village on a bicycle.
It was dark. On his way he passed a gipsy camp. The man and wife were asleep in the cart.
Lastly heeled up the cart which rested on a box, and threw them out on the road.
He then went on riding, but did not see the ass on the road. He tumbled over the ass, bicycle and all. He carried his bicycle and went out a gate where he left it.
He cut an ash stick and went on a bit the road, but turned back after a while and met the gipsy man who was following him.
The gipsy asked him did he meet a man with a bicycle.
He answered "no" but caught the gipsy and beat him black and blue.
