- There was an old pin factory in Louth about two hundred years, over two hundred people were employed, they came from Knockbridge, from Ardee, and from Stonetown, and even some came from Dundalk.
They had about twenty carts and they went about selling the pins in them often they were away for weeks, they would sell a lot of pins because there was no pin factory but it.
It was situated where Gerry McArdle now lived and his garden is called the factory garden.
