In 1831 an outbreak of Cholera occurred and Dr GRANT laboured among the victims till he succumbed to the disease. A round monument erected by the people to his memory in St. Fursey's churchyard has fallen.
On investigation I find that the monument mentioned in last paragraph was erected in memory of Dr Martin who succumbed to Typhus in 1847.
