  2. One May morning when my grandfather was thatching ahouse down at Powers in Coolnagun he saw a woman standing beside a well which was near the house. This woman was from the same townsland as my grandfather. He went into the house and informed the Powers,
Mr. Power and his wife went to the well and brought the woman back with them. They locked her into a room and left her there for three hours. She begged of them to let her go and promised that she would never interfere with them again. In the end they did release her although at one time the Powers had intended to inform the police.
