  1. Tady Scott:- a noted wag or playboy in Kyle district, who lived there over 100 years ago. He was a smith by trade but was careless and rather idle in his ways.

    Moll Sullivan:
This was a very elderly woman and had some good Irish but very poor English. She was a great-grand mother at the time. One of her customs was visiting and giving cures to neighbours. Some of her great grand child were ill and one of them happened to die while visiting them. Tadg met her on her homeward journey and the following conversation took place.
    Tadhg: Well what new Máire?
Moll: Och a chara one of the Shilds iss dead!
    Tadhg: Dead! A Mháire, Dead!
Moll: M'anam a grádh gur dead, shure no used in talking we all must dead.

The above I myself got from old John Delaney, Kyleballygalvin, The Commons about 40 years ago. The man died about 30 yrs ago and was about 85 yrs of age and had a fair knowledge of Irish.
