There were two ladies in the trap and one of them was quietly tapping the pony with a whip. He could hear them talking quite plainly but could not understand one word. Then he thought it was queer to see a pony and trap disappeared. He got so frightened that he fell into a hole up to the neck in water. It was with great difficulty he managed to get home. He was in bed for a week with fright,
