- Some people are able to know the kind of weather to expect by looking at the sun, moon and stars or clouds. Some people say if the sun rises watery looking, it is the sign of bad weather and if it sets rosy it is a sign of fine weather. If there is a ring around the moon we are to expect wet weather. If the stars are shining brightly or shooting across the sky it is a sure sign of frost. If you see a cat with her back to the fire or a dog eating grass, it is a sign of wet weather. If the birds are flying high it is a sign of fine weather and if low we can expect stormy weather. If a mountain appears to be near, it is also a sign of wet weather.
