    On duty and patrolling O,
    He met a goat upon the road,
    And charging up with strolling O,
    With bayonet fixed and courage high
    He seized him by the wizzen O,
    And thousand out a mighty oath
    He sent him off to prison O.
    "O mercy Sir the goat replied,
    And let me tell my story O,
    I am no rogue, nor ribbon man
    I am no Twig or Tory O,
    I am guilty not of any kind,
    Nor petty, nor high treason O,
    My trade all peelers know right well
    And this the ranting season O."
