    7. About the year 19,33 the stabling and out offices of Mr. Francis Browning Bruree Lodge became alight and only his private residence was saved by the timely arrival of the Limerick Fire Brigade which subjued the flames after almost two hours strenuous work. The cause of the fire is unknown.
    8. There were two serious fires in Bruree but fortunately no lives were lost in either case. There was an epidemic of typhoid fever locally in the year 19,32. It is believed that it was caused by the pollution of the water supply. There was one death and three others were seriously affected by the disease but fortunately survived it.
