    and melted it in a bastible. Then she got the moulds. She got cotton threads and plaited them from one end of the mould to the other with a piece of wire. Next she got a jug and filled it with melted tallow. She poured the tallow into the moulds until they were full from end to end. She put them cooling. After a few hours when the candles were hard she used dip the moulds in hot water in order to loosen them. The candles were easy to take out and were put into a box for storage. After a few weeks they were fit for use.
    Other candles she used make were called dips. These were made by dipping the thread into the melted tallow.
