Heat glycerine and whiskey in a spoon over a candle flame and pour it into the sore ear and cover with a pice of wadding or dip the wadding into the hot glycerine and whiskey and stuff into the ear.
Tie a piece of red flannel around the head so as to cover the ear and keep it warm.
Olive oil heated and poured into the ear is also supposed to be a good cure.
Bleeding from the nose.
Lie flat with your head lower than your feet and bathe the bridge of the nose with cold water.
Put some small cold object such as a key of a door at the back of the nick or on the bridge of the nose.
Cuts.
Wash some disinfectant or treat with iodine.
Burns
Cover immediately with flour bread soda or powdered starch and cover so as to keep away the air.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
