  1. Old people depended much on cures which they made themselves.
    They had a cure for split hands; to wash them in rusty water which could be obtained out of a smith's trough.
    Old people say any person by the name of Brennan can cure ringworm; and Farrissey also has a cure. Also any person by the name of Guinee has another cure. I have a brother and he is the 7th son and it is said he has a cure. The Lanes are great bonesetters. I have a sister also and she is called a posthumous child, because she never saw her father, and she as a cure for craos-galar.
