- Firkins and Churn making. There were firkins and churns made for taking butter and cheese to Cork and elsewhere. Timothy Shine who lived in the High St was a famous cooper and he made washing tubs, woodens pecks and pails.
Weaving. There is a place in Coolagh called the "Weavers Gap" and a man lived there and he made cloth from the wool of the sheep. There was a man named Jeriamh Foley locally known as Jerry the Weaver had a weaving machine in the village of Kiskeam.
